Coconut honey nectar is extracted from coconut sap of the coconut flower or blossom, heated and evaporated to create a concentrated syrup. It is golden brown in color and has a sweet scent and pleasant nutty aroma. It can replace refined sugars, artificial sweeteners and natural bee honey. It has a delicious sweet caramel flavor with a low glycemic index (GI). Low GI foods help in avoiding chronic diseases, such as Type 2 diabetes and decrease cancer risk. It is a healthy sweetener with its useful nutrient contents such as Vitamin B complex, Vitamin C, minerals (iron, zinc, calcium, sodium and potassium), inulin and amino acids.
Coco honey nectar provides 16 out of 20 amino acids essential to the body’s metabolism to function properly for good health. The highest content is Glutamic acid which is needed by the body to build protein and is the most common stimulating neurotransmitter in the nervous system. It can substitute for honey or can be consumed directly just like an ordinary syrup for pancakes, waffles or breads, bakery and pastry products. It can also be used as sweetener for coffee, tea, juices and other beverages. As it contains amino acids, it can be mixed with water for a refreshing healthy drink.
